If I was told I could only do one thing for the rest of my life, it would be very difficult for me to choose between my two passions...shopping and eating. Over the years I have worked very hard to become an expert at both, spending lots of time and money pursuing the best that stores and restaurants have to offer. I consider the best to be everything from a comfy t-shirt from Gap to a beautiful gown at Herve Leger, and at restaurants I like everything from seafood pasta at Lombardi's Romagna Mia to a delicious Buffalo chicken wing at Blondies Sports Bar & Grill. As you can see, I have very varied taste.
Since I usually use this column to talk about my passion for shopping, this time I'm going to talk about eating. Here's a list of my favorite dishes at Miracle Mile Shops. Since we have over 15 restaurants each with more dishes than I can count, I'm just listing the items that I find myself ordering over and over again. I'm getting hungry writing this so I'm going to type fast...
Blondies Sports Bar & Grill - an order of the spiciest Buffalo Chicken Wings available with blue cheese dressing and celery
Cabo Wabo Cantina - Ahi Tuna Ceviche served with spicy tortilla chips and a margarita
made with Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo Tequila. These are best enjoyed on the patio
watching all of the people on the Strip.
Cheeseburger Las Vegas - their famous Five Napkin Cheeseburger with its
special blend of Colby Jack cheese and a side of fries.
D'Amore's Famous Pizza - a slice of pizza with the works...pepperoni,
sausage, onions, green peppers, black olives and sprinkled with lots of red
pepper. I like it spicy!
db's Pong & Pool - The owners of Blondies Sports Bar & Grill opened this great venue that has tons of pong and pool tables and great bar food...what's not to like about that? I'm particularly fond of the Jalapeno Poppers filled with cream cheese and dipped in ranch dressing. The perfect snack in between pool games.
Fat Tuesday - a bloody Mary with extra Tabasco...just like they have in New Orleans. Are you noticing a pattern that I like spicy food and drinks?
FRESH Grill & Bar - I love salads and the Cobb Salad at FRESH is one
of my favorites. I have to balance the healthiness of the salad with an order
of FRESH's housemade potato chips...delish!
La Salsa Cantina - I have a tendency to fill up on chips & salsa when I go to Mexican restaurants. Luckily I love the Chili-Lime Salad with steak at La Salsa Cantina so I have room for everything.
Lobster ME - It's hard for me decide between Lobster Macaroni & Cheese or a
Lobster Grilled Cheese Sandwich, but I usually go with the Mac & Cheese
with a side order of tater tots.
Lombardi's Romagna Mia - if you like pasta, cream sauces and truffles like I do, you must try the Paglia e Fieno - green and white tagliolini pasta tossed with chicken, wild mushrooms, truffle oil & cream sauce. Yummy!
Ocean One Bar & Grill - Nowhere else can you enjoy 3 for 1 cocktails
(yes, I said 3 not 2) and daily lunch and dinner specials. Such a deal!
Oyster Bay Seafood & Wine Bar - When in Rome, you should eat like the Romans do. When at Oyster Bay, you should have oysters. I like mine with mignonette sauce and Tabasco.
Pampas Churrascaria Brazilian Grille - You have to love a restaurant that serves 8 different kinds of meat, cooked over a fire, and carved table-side. And the best part, it's all-you-can-eat! Just a tip...don't do what I do and fill up on the delicious salad bar before the meat starts arriving.
Panda Express - I can never pass up a couple of Panda Express's egg rolls.
Sin City Brewing Company - Pop in and say "hi" to the
owner/brewmaster Rich Johnson who makes you feel so welcome, and have a glass
of his Hefe wheat beer. Sin City is brewed right here in Las Vegas.
Todai Sushi & Seafood Buffet - I always have room for a few sushi rolls. Spicy Tuna is my favorite! Since this is an all-you-can-eat buffet, you should try more than just the Spicy Tuna that I love. Great thing about sushi... it's small and not too filling, right?
